Dr. Sid Williams, who has worked for over forty years with and for people with dementia, combines his experience and thorough research to describe and explain:
the nature of Alzheimer’s disease, other forms of dementia and other disorders of brain function;
behaviours and experiences associated with these disorders, including accounts of real people faced with these challenges
the way carers, family, friends and professionals perceive, understand and respond to people with dementia.
There are two parts to this book: the first part provides chapters on many topics, including repetitive behaviour, memory problems, and problems with common sense. Then there are detailed endnotes (optional reading) which provide references and more detail on the issues raised in the body of the book.
